The new ghost shirt society CD, tentatively titled Songs for the Earth, is nearing completion. Phil Bono and the band have been have been busy finishing up the tracking at a number of LA studios and I’m told that a big-name producer (who shall remain unnamed pending final negotiations) has expressed interest in supervising the mix. The record promises to serve up a knockout cocktail of funk, rock and worldbeat and features a lineup that includes (Stevie Wonder/Stanley Clarke) drummer Gerry Brown and (Manu Dibango) percussionist Marcel Adjibi.

For those of you that just can’t wait, check out the band’s self-titled 3-song EP, or catch one of their searing live sets, coming to a club near you.
